WELCOME BACK TO REPRISE!
REPRISE has been reborn!
We are now REPRISE 2.0 and we are incredibly excited, as we know you will be!
The original Reprise Broadway’s Best was known from California to New York for both the excellence of our productions and our fierce dedication to this essential American art form, rapidly becoming one of the leading musical theatre companies in America.
Since those days, so many of us have been emailed privately or approached in public by former audience members invariably asking the same question: “Can you bring Reprise back? There’s nothing like it in LA. We miss it!”
Well, my colleagues and I missed it too. And so, heartened by this outpouring of excitement and encouragement, a group of theatre professionals — directors, musical directors, choreographers, and designers who were responsible in large part for the original organization — met several months ago, determined to combine their talents once again to create a brand new entity. Bigger and better than ever. As a result, we’re delighted to inform you that our new American Musical Theatre company, REPRISE 2.0, will return not only to Los Angeles, but to the original, passionate vision that made Reprise so special.
We will begin in June of this year, producing three musicals each season at our former home, the wonderful 550 seat Freud Theatre on the UCLA campus, with a two-week run for each show. What will again be unique and magical about REPRISE 2.0 is our dedication to presenting the highest quality shows from the classic Broadway repertoire, those shows that are rarely revived but richly deserving of attention because of their glorious, timeless scores.

“Complete with a 100% hum-the-hit guarantee, the Reprise! edition of Irving Berlin’s “Call Me Madam” is a mellow treat, easily one of the best shows I’ve seen under this particular banner at the UCLA Freud Playhouse.”
“Wonderful Town” and Reprise! fit very well together–more than the last Reprise! show “Finian’s Rainbow” and about as well as the first, “Promises, Promises.”
“Theater Review: A Rare View of ‘Syracuse’ : Reprise! production of the Shakespeare-drawn musical has strong tunes that help cover for a weak libretto.”
“It was “Frasier” with a razor over the weekend at the Ahmanson. Opening its third season, “Reprise! Broadway’s Best in Concert”.”
“Reprise! scheduled “Of Thee I Sing” before Monica Lewinsky became famous, producer Marcia Seligson says in a program note.”
